Academy of the Heures Romantiques
From 4 to 12 August 2018
Master Class: Improvement DUOS CHANT AND PIANO: from July 27 to August 4, 2019 at Château-Renault at the Tannerie and at the Albert Chauvet Meeting Center.
Lieder et mélodies by Clara and Robert Schumann, Richard Strauss and Henri Duparc
The aim of the Academy of the Heures Romantiques, founded in 1997 by Udo Reinemann, is to promote and deepen the interpretation of German Lied and French Melody in the spirit of chamber music and a blend of music and poetry which is simultaneously a source of difficulty and beauty in this repertory; the singer and pianist are equal partners, fully aware that they form a duo and carry jointly a text that is both musical and poetic.
With this in mind, the Academy of the Heures Romantiques offers students the opportunity of an intensive training course with leading masters and a comprehensive teaching team in order to study all the aspects of this demanding repertory.
Daily sessions on interpretation are given by two leading specialists in Lied and Melodie: Mezzo soprano Mitsuko Shirai and concert pianist Markus Hadulla (. Their training also includes practical sessions on linguistics and literature for duos, given by the German scholar Philosopher and musicologist, Dorian Astor and, for singers, individual lessons in vocal technique given by soprano Marie-Claude Solanet, vocal teacher at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels.
The Academy of the Heures Romantiques will take place from July 27 to August 4, 2019 in the town of Château-Renault (Indre-et-Loire).
During this period each duo will have 3 work sessions a day (2 classes of interpretation and 1 class on the texts). In addition singers have individual daily classes of vocal technique.
On Sunday, 12 August at the end of the masterclass, a Concert is given by emerging artists of the Academy.
Two concerts Prestige will take place during the Academy, to which the students will be invited free of charge.
Meals are taken together on site. Students are housed by local residents in a warm atmosphere of friendship.
